Type: Birra Nursia is produced by the monks of the Abbey of San Benedetto in Monte and helps support the life of prayer and the apostolate of the monastery. Taste: Birra Nursia Extra has an appealing dark brown hue with bright ruby highlights and a creamy, foamy head. Its aroma is characterized by notes of fresh yeast, berries, and stone fruit, enhanced by a touch of cocoa. It is a well-structured beer, dominated by malty flavors with notes of caramel and liqueur, which complete a warm, dry, and peppery finish. Pairings: selections of hard cheeses; first courses with ragù, sausage, speck, and game; meats with red fruit jelly or dried fruit cakes. Pizzas: white pizza with mushrooms, sausage, and truffle cream; four seasons pizza with walnuts.
