Type: Monte-Alfina, pure Chardonnay, is born in a unique place, namely the volcanic plateau of Alfina that unites Umbria and Lazio and which over the years has also been named among the places of the heart FAI. The name derives from a dialect crasis between "Aria" and "Fina", which became "Arfina" and subsequently Alfina. The label is a clonal selection from Burgundy, grown in the highest vineyards in Umbria at 580 meters above sea level. For this particularly valuable label, Alessandro Leoni decided to refine it in French oak barriques from the Nièvre forest, paying particular attention to the age of the wood, the temperatures, the times and the toasting methods. Color: fairly deep straw yellow color. Bouquet: on the nose it immediately presents itself as rich and complex where fruity notes of citrus, apple, pear, cantaloupe, toasted almond, hazelnut, dried apricot, avocado, papaya and mango first appear, pervaded by floral hints of white fruit and olfactory gusts of vegetal nature of aromatic herbs. Following this come butter, acacia honey, caramel and various spicy notes. Taste: on the palate the approach is pleasant but then immediately sharp with acidity, softly rounded, expertly citrusy, however elegant and fine. Grapes: pure Chardonnay. Pairings: it splendidly accompanies fish dishes, tartare, molluscs and crustaceans. Serving temperature: 8-10 °C.
